What a brilliant Volunteers Week we’ve had across Reach Learning Disability! Hosting special events at both our Flower Pods, it was wonderful to catch up and share smiles with so many volunteers and client volunteers in one place.
We were honoured to welcome The High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, Ed Attenborough to our Flower Pod Southwell volunteer celebration. Dressed in full court regalia, he presented awards, which many of our clients were very excited about! Ed joined us at Flower Pod Newark last August at our Voice & Participation celebration, accompanying then-High Sheriff Nick Rubins to recognise our group’s achievements. We’re proud to welcome him back, now in his official role.
At Reach, we rely on our incredible volunteers, who each play a vital role. Whether it’s supporting clients in sessions, helping our Flower Pods flourish, assisting with events, or providing vital office support, their contributions are invaluable.
We’re also thrilled to announce that, thanks to a generous five-year grant from The National Lottery Community Fund, we’re expanding our volunteering programme through our ‘All Part of Change’ project. This will create new opportunities for local volunteers and adults with learning disabilities to get involved – both in our centres and across the wider community. It also marks a significant step forward in our Voice & Participation work, empowering people with learning disabilities to influence the issues that matter to them.
💚 Thank you to all our volunteers for everything you do! 💚
