We’re delighted that Persimmon Homes Nottingham has awarded Reach £1000 as part of the housebuilder’s Community Champions scheme. The funding will go towards our supported holidays for adults with learning disabilities.
We organise two supported holidays each year which are attended by between 30 and 40 clients. They are a great opportunity for clients to practice their communication skills, feel more independent and have fun. They are also a chance to form new friendships, leading to an enhanced sense of well-being and giving clients many happy memories.
This summer, we will be taking clients to the Warner Leisure Park at Gunton Hall in Suffolk for three nights, during which they will have the opportunity to try new activities, dance the night away and enjoy a Take That and Olly Murs tribute weekend!
Neil Follows, managing director for Persimmon Homes Nottingham, said: “Reach Learning Disability do excellent work across the county and their drive to raise money for holidays is a brilliant cause. We wanted to support their efforts and we hope the £1,000 helps enables users and their carers get a much needed break and can only help everyone involved.”
The Community Champions initiative began in 2015 allowing charities and groups to apply for funding up to the value of £1,000 to match money they have already raised themselves. Nationally Persimmon Homes has donated more than £1 million. For further details people can visit www.persimmonhomes.com.
