Reach Learning Disability is proud to share that Maisie, who attends Reach Mansfield has been recognised at Mansfield Rotary Courage Awards. This event celebrates inspirational young individuals who have demonstrated exceptional moral and spiritual courage in overcoming adversity.
Nominated by our Mansfield Centre Manager, Maria Williams, Maisie’s journey is a testament to resilience and determination. Maria shared, “We nominated Maisie because she has adapted well to all the challenges she faces in her life. Her determination and adaptability are always outstanding.“
Despite facing slight hearing loss and requiring assistance in the community, Maisie’s spirit remains undeterred. She has a natural ability to make friends. She bring joy to those around her with her fantastic smile and enthusiasm. Maria added, “We love having her at Reach Mansfield. She is such an amazing individual.”
Maisie participates in various activities at Reach Mansfield, including computer sessions, performing arts, art, and baking courses. Her ‘give-it-a-go’ attitude shines through in all activities. Maria noted, “She’s made many friends at the centre, and we all hope she continues to thrive and enjoy life.”
Beyond her involvement at Reach, Maisie enjoys watching basketball, listening to music, and cherishing time with her friends and family. Her recognition at the Mansfield Rotary Courage Awards highlights not only her personal achievements but also the supportive community that surrounds her.
