On Wednesday 20th July, Reach was invited to give a presentation to the Women’s Institute at Thurgarton about how we support people with learning disabilities across Nottinghamshire to live happier, healthier lives.

Fundraising Officer, Laura Carr, shared information with the members about the courses, activities and projects that are ongoing at Reach across our five bases. These offerings provide opportunities for people with learning disabilities to develop new skills, increase their confidence and, importantly, to reduce loneliness by making and maintaining friendships – fundamental values that The Women’s Institute champion as well.

After the presentation, Kath Jowett, a long-serving member of Thurgarton’s Women’s Institute and friend of Reach, kindly presented Laura with a cheque to support our work.

Laura said: “It was a lovely evening. Thank you to the members of The Women’s Institute at Thurgarton for the warm welcome and for their kind donation. I enjoyed presenting to the group, who enable women to make a difference to the community they are part of. I look forward to continuing our relationship with members in the future.”
