Mandy completes the Virtual London Marathon for Reach

In News by Sarah Cobb

At Reach, we really appreciate the funds raised for us by people taking on challenge events. It makes a real difference to the lives of our clients, enabling us to offer activities that they might otherwise miss out on. Mandy, Flower Pod Southwell volunteer, recently completed the Virtual London Marathon, hiking 26.2 miles along the River Trent.

Mandy said:

“I successfully completed my 26.2 marathon walk on Sunday. The weeks of training did pay off , and despite the rain, I was really pleased with the time I did it in.

Having never done such a long walk it was hard to know how I’d feel. I have to say that I really loved the challenge and my friends and family who showed up to support me were key to morale and completion.  More importantly , the amount raised so far, of just over £1800, far exceeded my expectations so I’m pretty confident we will get that patio built and the clients will be enjoying it soon. I’ve been very touched by all the support and messages and I’m delighted with the outcome.”
